• L’hirondelle is the perfect place to unwind from the stresses of daily life.  With no TV, phone or English radio, you can disconnect from the rest of the world and simply enjoy the peace and quiet which this scenic rural setting provides. 
  






• On arrival you can relax with a complimentary bottle of wine and decide which of the many attractions or leisure activities that you would like to do.  You will find that most are within a ½ hour drive of the property.  Being in the Loire, the well known attractions are the Chateaux and the Vineyards.  Our personal favourite chateaux are the Citadel at Loches and the Amboise Chateau (also home to Leonardo Di Vinci’s last home and exhibition of his designs). The local champagne from Vouvray is well worth sampling, and vineyard tours can be booked with local Caves. 
  






• The Loire also has many more diverse things to do and see and includes a sweet factory, theme parks, local markets, festivals, village fetes, zoos and Paris is only an hours train ride away.  For those wanting something more along the lines of sport and leisure, there are local golf courses, horse riding, cycle trails, adventure parks, water sports lakes, swimming pools (some with flumes) and fishing. 
  






• If you do not fancy going further afield then there is plenty to do around the property; family board games, puzzles, books and outdoor games are provided and the local wildlife provides entertainment and music from dusk to dawn, although they are rather camera shy! 
  






• The property itself has been restored to keep the original features such as wooden beams, floor tiles and natural stone walls.  The farmhouse is light and spacious and has natural air conditioning in the summer and radiators in the winter; thanks to its 50cm thick stone walls. 
  






• Added to this we have provided modern conveniences and some little extras to make your stay even more comfortable; Egyptian cotton bedding is freshly laundered each week and is accompanied by fluffy hypoallergenic duvets and pillows.  The kitchen has all the standard facilities, crockery and cooking utensils that you can expect, as well as a dishwasher!  






• You will also find the basic supplies left for you so you do not have to worry about forgetting to pack them, such as washing up liquid, dishcloths, tea towels, cooking oil, French herbs and even English vinegar and tomato ketchup!  Cleaning products are also supplied for your use and we would ask that you leave the farmhouse clean and tidy when you go.  Our caretakers will give it a thorough clean ready for the next guests.
