PLACES TO SEE:
Mont St Michel. 12 km. Stunning monastery built on a small rocky island linked to the mainland by a causeway. Second most popular tourist attraction in France, it is a real delight to wander the narrow street with shops, hotels and restaurants leading to the abbey, or stroll in the gardens. Guided tour of the abbey itself.
Dol de Bretagne. 15 km. Very attractive market town full of medieval charm and romance, with beautiful fortified cathedral .
Combourg. 30 km. Delightful town with beautiful castle and lake, which has retained many of its original medieval features and buildings. Home of great French romantic writer François-René Chateaubriand.
Cancale. 30 km. Oyster capital of Brittany. The harbour is surrounded by pretty old fishing houses, many of them now shops and restaurants where you can sample the local produce.

THINGS TO DO:
Alligator Bay, Beauvoir. 10 km. Tropical greenhouse at the foot of the Mont Saint Michel with 200 alligators and crocodiles. An unusual adventure to discover the natural habitat of these creatures in the hot, damp climate of African jungles and Louisiana’s forests. Rope bridges, floating pontoons and hunter’s cabins are all waiting to be discovered! A thrilling nature reserve, the only one of its kind in Europe!
Parc des Grands Chênes, Bazouges-la-Pérouse. 20 km. Adventure park/Tree climbing. With 2500 metres of rope bridges, Tarzan swings, etc., and more than 210 workshops (from 5 years upwards, allow 4-5 hours for adults). Or why not try your hand at sailing on a fleet of miniature boats. You can even become captain at the ripe old age of 3.
Golf Domaine des Ormes, Dol de Bretagne. 25 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 72 - 5912m. Magnificent course set in wooded parkland with 16th century castle and a beautiful natural lake. Domaine des Ormes is a fairly technical course yet suitable for all handicaps.
Cobac Parc, Lanhélin. 30 km. Leisure/waterpark. In 12 hectares of woodland between St Malo and Rennes, offering around 30 activities for all ages and tastes, whether you are looking for thrills, adventure, relaxation or exploration.

FURTHER AFIELD:
St Suliac. 35 km. Picturesque fishing village classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. On the beautiful Rance estuary, with stunning coastal views, a sandy beach and sailing/windsurfing school. Definitely worth a visit.
St Malo. 40 km. Delightful and fascinating walled city, known as the Privateer city, with rich history, huge sandy beach and breathtaking coastal scenery. Plenty of lovely restaurants and creperies, lively bars and elegant shops. Linked to Dinard by boat bus.
Dinard. 45 km. A very elegant seaside resort with casino and Belle Epoque villas, beautiful sandy beaches (with kids club), tiny inlets and magnificent views of both the Rance river and the English Channel. Facing St Malo, to which it is linked by boat bus.
Dinan. 45 km. Quaint medieval town situated along the banks of the River Rance. The beautifully preserved town boasts a castle, narrow cobbled streets and old timbered buildings. Definitely worth a visit.
