Location
On the western coast of the Cotentin Peninsula, 60 km from Mont St Michel and 18 km north of the pretty resort of Granville which is built on a rocky spur. The Upper town boasts a rich architectural heritage consiting of many fine buildings including old picturesque homes and mansions from the 16th and 17th centuries and the Church of Notre Dame dating back to the 15th to 17th century. From "Pointe du Roc", you will enjoy some outstanding coastal views, including the Bay of Mont Saint Michel and the Chausey Islands. Also at Granville you can visit the house and garden of Christian Dior, the Aquarium at Pointe du Roc and the popular casino. Granville also offers many watersports activities and is the departure point for the ferries to Jersey and the Chausey Islands, ideal for a day trip.

Coutances. 15 km. Old hill town overlooked by its stunning half-gothic half-Norman cathedral. No to miss on Summer evenings when a sound and light show makes the most of this dramatic building.
Granville. 18 km. Port and lively seaside resort with pleasant long beach and fortified old centre looking out towards the Channel islands. Ferries to the Channel islands and Iles Chausey.
Villedieu les Poêles. 35 km. Little town with attractive old centre and famous for its bell foundry which can be visited.
Denneville. 50 km. Charming family seaside resort across from the Channel islands with long sandy beach and numerous watersports available including wind surfing, sailing and sea fishing.

La Forêt des Elfes, Cérences. 10 km. Tree top adventure park/Paintball. A 10 hectare of natural woodland with river, offering multiple workshops and courses. Also available is ample free parking and a walking trail. Also paintball available (indoor and outdoor).
Golf Club de Countainville, Agon Coutainville. 18 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 68 - 5022m. Challenging, well designed and maintained links course with water hazards, between sea and countryside.
Chateau de Pirou. 30 km. Beautiful little castle, thought to be the oldest in Normandy, dating back to the earliest Viking raids.
Zoo de Champrepus, Villedieu les Poëles. 35 km. Animal park. 50 species in an exotic environment. Safeguard of rare species in process of disappearance, 7 hectares of grounds with monkey bars, educational and fun courses. Also miniature farm, ideal for small kids with interactive activities and a game park.
FURTHER AFIELD:
Avranches. 40 km. Pretty market town with attractive centre in the Mont St Michel bay and gateway to Brittany.
Ste Mère Eglise. 60 km. First town to be liberated after the D-Day landings hosting the Airborne Troops Museum with memorabilia of the time.
Mont St Michel. 60 km. Stunning monastery built on a small rocky island linked to the mainland by a causeway. Second most popular tourist attraction in France, it is a real delight to wander the narrow street with shops, hotels and restaurants leading to the abbey, or stroll in the gardens. Guided tour of the abbey itself.
Tatihou Island. 90 km. Just off the coast from the little port of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, an inhabited and fortified island with maritime museum. Also a paradise for nature lovers and in particular birdwatchers.
