Environment : By Bosméléac lake, offering a sandy man-made beach, shady footpaths, canoe and pedalo hire and fishing (permit required). PLACES TO SEE: St Brieuc. 30 km. Major city situated between the steep sided valleys of the River Gouedic to the east and the River Gouet to the west. Famous for its scallops. Lamballe. 35 km. Medieval town, full of character, with many beautiful historic buildings and half-timbered houses. Home of the National Stud Farm, world famous for its stallions and as a centre of excellence for dressage. Also a famous weekly market. Pontivy. 35 km. Quaint market town with both a Napoleonic and medieval quarter overlooked by its fabulous 15th century moated castle.
